It all makes perfect sense if you really, really want a war. The PNAC people have been working on this one for a long, long time.

A question for debate: Which would make the UN more irrelevant, voting against W's war-on-schedule or rubber-stamping it to give Tony Blair a tiny bit of political cover? Hard to say, maybe the PNAC people would actually prefer a vote against it so they'd have yet another thing to wax indignant about. Not that there's ever any shortage there.

If you're going to disarm Iraq, then you have to depose the regime.

The problem with Iraq has never been the weapons. It's been Hussein and Baath.
