Why do you think Cheney wouldn't show his energy papers?
Becauase those papers proved there was collusion all the way to the White House creating that phony energy crisis, covering it up and even trying to blame it on Democrats with a 25 million dollar disinformation campaign paid for by the very perpetrators. The Enron type scandals finally won us campaign finance reform but guess what? Bushies using Ken Starr again are trying to gut CFR in court now. Corruption Inc. at work. The new GOP congress also voted to do away with the law requiring lawmakers to report wining, dining and gifts from lobbyists. More proof of the real mindset in DC now under GOP right-wing rule.

You may remember that the Economy WAS down during the Campaign, LOL. Talk from the Bush team came after the fact(indisputable). Your thinking as to a nice tidy easy recovery with a smarter leader(like the guy presiding over the fall? LOL), is wishful thinking indeed, and to be quickly dismissed by the reasonable among us, indeed. The ECONOMY started heading down in a major way under Clinton, and the Economy busted the budget in turn, not Bush.
