It's not an argument, CB, more a point of view. Much of the world will see a UNSC vote for the Bush folk as more evidence that it is simply a tool of the US. That argument then says the UN becomes less relevant as a serious global entity. It's function is simply to legitimize US foreign policy actions.

Whether you agree or disagree with that point of view, it's not only out there. But goes to the question of the future viability of the UN. That's the tight rope. Vote against the US and the Bush folk say they will take their marbles and play in someone else's yard; vote for the US and much of the rest of the world feels the UNSC is simply a rubber stamp.
