Zmag also quotes articles from what's considered mainstream press. Just like what the Bush administration puts forward, one also has to read between the lines to what the left puts forward.

But I think one makes a grave error in the effort for understanding by not paying attention to what the left is advocating, especially to what the left is criticizing. Regarding Bush's push for war on Iraq, the left has been right on with its analysis. Indeed, what the left has been writing is very much in tune with wider world opinion.

Bush is moving forward on the strength of his inner advisors, his political party base and in the knowledge that he's got the Democrats handcuffed on the issue. Internationally, all Bush has are a few European leaders who don't have the support of their people, and some former Eastern European countries who are striving for new identities.

Beyond that, Bush has nothing in the way of support. He doesn't even have the support of Iraq's neighbors nor the Iraqi people who have not asked him to liberate them.
