I read somewhere (probably one of the great articles posted here) that it will take 900 gas rigs to maintain production. My hunch is that we may just barely make it to that level, or a little lower, in which case demand will have to go down a little more.

The Canadian drilling story is quite another story. I believe every rig in Canada is turning to the right as we speak. Which begs the question, how hard would it be to move a land rig currently in the US to Canada? These things have to be able to be moved on roads obviously, in order to go to the next drilling site. So once you mobilize it, why not just keep driving north, where there's a need for it, instead of keeping it down here where it'll just sit around getting rusty?
