Dear JF: Well, I dont know what possessed Saddam to go agains Iran when he did, but as to Kuwait, we all know he claimed it as a Province and of course wanted their oil. I think that his real plan is to attempt to control the oil of the middle east, if not by occupancy, by threats and somehow feels that will make him more powerful then the Industrialized West? I heard on T/V that his personal hero is STALIN and he duplicates much of what STalin did, so I guess we can use history to attempt to evaluate his moves. jdn
