Unlike an American administration-with the checks and balances tradition strongly behind them-no Turkish administration could conceivably survive such a blow by it's legislature. The next three days will be busy in Ankara. A few weak-minded members of parliament have established their "cover". Expect a comfortable margin in the real vote, on Tuesday.

Even Middle East merchants like to save their own butts. IF Saddam was an imminent threat the money would not be an issue.
