Anyone who thinks President Bush is doing this for political reasons is nuts. You could do this only if you really believed in it, because Mr. Bush is betting his whole presidency on this war of choice.

This is true. And the thing I find hardest to take from the anti-war crowd is posting that it is not true.


I can understand that. But, whereas the Bush's doing of it is almost messianic in some of the speeches (yeah, I know you won't like that language), much of the rhetoric of it is not credible. Here I mean the constant search for yet one more reason. That only leads folk, definitely including myself, to think there is a reason beneath the reasons. And, while the reasons are definitely not those of immediate reelection, one is entitled to be quite skeptical about them.
