I see the laughing hyena has shown up. I KNEW I should have made this moderated.

One of the concerns Turkey has is losing part of their own country- -the eastern part where the Kurds are. They already are having trouble there and are afraid of more coming if the Turkish and Iraqi Kurds decide to go for a country of their own.

OTOH, the Turks did try to hold us up. They just wanted more money. Sort of like haggling with a whore.

Yeah, these other countries have gotten a free ride from Uncle Sam for decades- -including our buddies the frogs. They knew they could count on us coming if they screamed. Maybe we should pull out of NATO too and let them pay their own way. I bet they screw it up. Probably follow the French pre-WW2 example: largest defense budget around, build fixed fortifications when tanks and planes are coming of age, and only protect half your border.

Know what that does? That tells the other guy to drive through the OTHER half! DUH! You'd think even the French could figure that out.
