While I've never killed I have struck a person preemptively when I've been verbally threatened. If I thought I or my wife and child were in danger I would do it again without hesitation. I don't own a gun but god have mercy on the man who walks into my home at night. I can hit a mean 9 iron and I wouldn't think twice about using it in an effort to protect my family. You may wait for that person to start to rape your wife before using anything to prevent that. I wouldn't. It's just a difference in views but I accept your feelings and don't think less of you because of them
