Condor,
I second Johns comments condor about your post. Never said this was easy. As a way out, i would keep our troops in theater if allies/UN pays for part of it. There would be no inspections without Bush aggressiveness and if the world wants to make the point to saddam, it needs to anty up too. Add 200 more inspectors. Keep american troops close by and get france, russia and german bucks to prove their committment. The Turks could then vote yes.
There still are ways out of this if the world wants to follow TR's advice and Talk softly and carry a big stick. Bush has provided the stick, now its time for the world to ratchet up the pressure if in fact war can be avoided at such a late date. But it must be believable to saddam and not seen as an american cave in. OY! Mike
