Centrist Progressive is a contradiction. Its new age speak for Socialist government. While certainly better than communism they still believe that they can eliminate human nature through government intervention. They are not centrist but tilt to the left. Here in there own words is what it means.

"The Centrist Party is a progressive third party in the political center. We are progressive in that we support policies that accomplish objectives like:

Providing every child with a nurturing and high quality education
Helping the poor escape poverty through work and social programs
Ensuring that people are economically prosperous and have attained wealth by retirement
Safeguarding the environment
Keeping the nation healthy and providing health services to those who cannot afford them
Upholding civil and human rights
Preventing crime by reducing stress in tense communities
Rehabilitating criminals so that they can return to productive lives
Avoiding fatal foreign conflict but intervening to promote peace
Encouraging citizen democracy"

Dave the key statement in there that shows just how God like and elitist they are is the following. "Ensuring that people are economically prosperous and have attained wealth by retirement "

This is their delusion. They are akin to a religious cult. Ironically while they laugh at Creationist theory they despise the idea of survival of the fittest. In this madness they follow the dictum that make the weak strong by making the strong weak. This policy has destroyed the education system and is in the process of destroying the economy. Thus they are far removed from the center.

Russia has more oil than it needs, doesn't need Iraq's.
France does have Iraqi oil contracts and guess what SO DO WE. So where's the beef there? A lot of Limbaugh BS basically. Believe that propaganda if you like but you're just blinding yourself.

Attacking allies who oppose Bush's doctrine only hurts us more. How many more allies can we afford to lose? Bush's fault they distrust him to begin with. He came in like a stupid cowboy, moderated a bit and now is back to the cowboy mode. Silly boycotts of French goods. What if tehy boycott OUR goods in return? Like we need more economic hardship.

Didn't Bush run as the "unifier"? What a crock. He's easily the most divisive president in modern times. His whole 2000 campaign was a lie. He ran to the middle and now performs to the right. CLinton by comparison was quite moderate. Bush is not. His tax cuts have been the worst possible thing for our economy. And he squandered so much post 9-11 goodwill. Now we have to PAY allies to help us.

Centrist-progressive means common sense fiscal conservative, moderate of temperment, tough when the situation requires, unifying around the middle but forward-thinking as can be on environment, technology, peoples' futures and fairly liberal on social issues but not too far left (ie gay marriages) and moderate on what you call "socialism" which is really all our government programs set up in insure people dont fall through the cracks, especially after they retire.

By the way Bush is now proposing a "socialist" prescription drug program worth 400 billion, a democrat program, though I'm sure if you read the fine print it's another giveaway to the HMO's. After all Bush owes the HMO's big-time, and Frist is their man in DC. HMO's stink. Just like Bush's polluter buddies and timber-cutting cronies.

Bush is in the midst of squandering our futures, in case you hadn't noticed, including our environment, Socisal Security, Medicare and our government's financial stability. And he's done it all in two years. WCouldn't have done a worse job if he'd tried. Or maybe he has tried. Giving away everything to the richest people and his favorite corporate special interest groups. It's a real mess. Much worse than they're admitting.

What the hell is a "centrist progressive"?

It is obviously another goofy euphemism for "leftist."

"It is about the French and Russians petroleum companies and their contracts with Saddam. Its about the French and Russians worrying that a new Iraqi government might nullify those contracts."

What exactly is our reason?

Weapons of mass destruction?
Aggressions by Iraq against others?
Ties to al Queda?
Creating democracy in the Middle East?

Gunboat diplomacy?
