I believe that to be true. I'm a product of new math. Basically my seventh year of math was thrown out. I went form B/A's to C/D's in math because I didn't guak algebra in the eighth. See in the seventh they thought us math theory. My limited memory was the teachers knew as little about teaching it as I did understanding. It took me years to over come their one year of experimenting. I still cringe, thinking of my first couple high school years of math.
