The Abolitionists were heavily motivated by religion. Many were men of the cloth.

Shall we bring back slavery? Are the results of religious motivation always bad?

Check those Lincoln speeches, too. It looks like he had more than a nodding acquaintance with religion.

And what of JFK? Do you disavow him and all his political opinions?
