I think the big fear about JFK winning the Presidency was that folks believed the Pope would control the US. JFK did not mix his religion with politics. Bush shouldn't either.

You substitute your opinion for the law and for practice dating back to the founding of the Republic.

But again: Because action has religious motivation, is it guaranteed that such action is bad and will have bad results?
