I for one am proud to say that I have given up church for lent. I did this back in 1984.....has lent ended yet? <g>

Oh, I strongly support separation of church and state. I will be one of the earliest victims if that wall is seriously breached. That does not mean private people with religious motivations may not do very good things (and very bad things) it merely means I wish my government to be a secular government. You also seem to want to dictate that the people in that gov't also be secular. Else why criticize Bush and Lincoln for being influenced by religion? Sorry. That exceeds your rights.
