The movement did not need to be part of the government. In fact it worked against the government. It is fine for a man to follow his religion in private life- for good or ill. (Shall we talk about the religious roots of the KKK?) But I want a separation of church and state. That is all Laz. The only dodging is by you, trying to argue (I assume) against that proposition. It's uphill work isn't it?

Quakers are often good people, but I don't want my government to be a Quaker one. If you want a mix of church and state in your government, then say so. If you do not, then we agree and I've no idea why you've been posting all this other stuff, save for a wish to argue with me. I can't say I share your enthusiasm for that.
