That is such a cop out bunch of bull. in a democratic society the state acts out the will of the governed. The problem with your thinking here is quite clear. Should I as an individual wish to exact revenge upon a person for some perceived wrong, I cannot force my will upon the state. I might plead my case before the state, but the state (and not I) decides whether the accused lives or dies. So it is clear that my position is no cop out. You simply hate it that you don't have a leg to stand on in the case of Christians who support the state's power to execute criminals. Your snare for Christians has been sprung and you find yourself trapped by it instead of your intended quarry. You hate this. I would too were I you.
