I own a lot of CanRoys, and business trusts, mainstay of my portfolio. I look specifically for those managers with decent hedging records to add to core positions. That produces nice dependable income. It ain't sexy but it's stable.
I own NCN but that's a swing trade for the current NG environment since they do little if any hedging.

That allows me to speculate in the likes of gold and the RRI's of the world.

Yes God bless a good hedger...
