After having owned this stock for 5+ years, doing a ton of due diligence on it, listening to the conference calls, and after having analyzed their PRs and "awards" from over the years, I came to the conclusion that I should take anything they say with a huge dose of skepticism. The way that PR is worded, it's not a "sale" yet. It says they received a large "Purchase Order". They avoided the mention of the word "sale" when discussing the order. So, the sale of the licenses will occur ... when? Perhaps it will be next week. Perhaps it will be spread over the next 73 quarters. Who knows? But, yes it does "sound" good. RTB mentioned "sale" following the discussion of the "Purchase Order":"This sale reflects the tremendous growth the Company has experienced over the past year and we are focusing our efforts on sustaining this momentum," said Richard Brock, President and CEO of Firstwave. But, the next paragraph reverts to referring to it as a "Purchase Order":This order, combined with other opportunities, reflects the strength of Firstwave's pipeline. Based upon this purchase order, other completed transactions, and other opportunities that Firstwave currently has in progress, the total license revenues for the first and second quarters of 2003 should be significantly higher than those recognized in the first two quarters of 2002. Past experience with FSTW "news" leads me to wonder what the heck really happened here, and what it means for FSTW for the short term. It also makes me wonder if the pipeline already reflected the anticipation of this "Purchase Order". Whatever. Congrats to them for obtaining the "Purchase Order". Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the stock price volatility. Regards, TED [msgid=18653366 ... dbl-dbl ... doubled]
