Two problems and one solution? Of course we can't drill in Alaska or off California. No imported oil but don't use our own.

Well, perhaps drilling in Alaska and off California should be considered. I'm not going to argue against those ideas. I'm sure it can be done in an environmentally friendly way. But, I'm also sure it would cause a lot of concerns amongst some people. In any case, more drilling is just a quick fix for our oil dependency problem. We need to move to a new fuel like hydrogen or dramatically increase the fuel efficiency of our auto fleets by changing them over to hybrids and fuel cells.
