No, you obviously misread what I wrote. The Republicans are chummy with the banking sector. That's why they're pushing for things like an new bankruptcy bill that is hard on the average working Joe. A large segment of the working people of American vote Republican because they share their cultural conservatism. The two issues are not connected. The only connection is that the conservative working people are voting for politicians who's goal in life is to screw them over.

What lie was more damaging to the American people Clinton denying he had sex with someone or Bush saying he doesn't believe in nation building. He was either lying or he had no idea what he was talking about and one has to assume that goes for his crack foreign policy team. If it is the latter it actually scares me more because he is still probably guessing about foreign or relying on focus groups to craft foreign policy.
