Well, I would concur that monarchies are not consistent with the longer term goal of worldwide democracy. However, much like our attempts to bring democracy to China, we have to be careful to make it a stable progression if at all possible. The Shah is not analogous to this situation, since I think we "tolerate" the Saudi Monarchy for different reasons. It is always interesting to note, regardless of Administration, that America, the World's greatest democracy, has a long history of supporting some of the World's most infamous dictators. ~SB~
