Appreciate your words, "ole' buddy C"~ Problem is, I don't believe that the world really wants the problem solved.... "They want the problem solved but not your way" IF the world wanted the problem solved, the world would have found a way to solve it to EVERYONE's satisfaction years ago!! But hey, "as long as it's NIMBY...what do most people care???" Well, this is in our 'backyard, frontyard, and some of yours as well most likely' Part of me says "OK rest of the world...solve your own problems, and don't call on Uncle Sam when you need help." The other part says our President has a legal (to say nothing of moral) obligation per the US Constitution to perserve, protect and defend the USA... And I personally believe this includes the guests of this country. After all, not only Americans were hit on 9-11....there were hundreds of other Nation's citizens as well. And of course, not everyone is "for war..." in fact, most of us aren't. But "containment" obviously hasn't been working. The real problem is that those who say they are "anti-war" DON'T have a single workable idea....I really haven't seen one. And not only here on SI. Are we so jaded that we just don't care any longer? Or really so sheltered that we believe it won't happen again...? What if the "what-ever-he-is" over in NK misses the East Coast, or West Coast of the US and hits Vancouver, or Montreal, or Toronto? Or any AQ or other terrorist group comes to Canada AND the US and poisons the water sources...or worse. Then what? What was your position when the US went to Bosnia? After all, they didn't hit us. They didn't massively kill our citizens? Did the Canadians go? Wonder how many went from France? Yes, I am calm. Somewhat. If you knew me, you'd know that to be true. Most of the American people in my sphere are calm, and reasoned, and surprisingly, mostly of the 'liberal' position.... 9-11 got our attention. Saddam has our attention. So does Saudi. So does Iran, Libya, Syria, etc. And so does any of the AQ and other terrorist groups that openly say on TV, radio, and print media that their intent is to KILL AMERICANS and THE WEST. What is not clear about their message? Yer ole buddy, KLP
