Second, liberals are afraid to tell people what they stand for and hate being called liberal. And the other news channels are scrambling to find "conservative" schticks. They just don't get it and you can't out-fox Fox with pretenders. Many middle-of-the-roaders who watch TV have become amazed that there actually is another point of view out there. Something that they have never seen nor heard. Now, when they watch Fox News, they get balance and fairness and they like what they see and hear. That's why Fox News is kicking CNN's and PMS-NBC's ass. Conservatives have always known about the blatant bias on the other cable and major network channels. And ironically, even as they(CNN, etc.) try to figure out Fox, and as they run around grabbing conservatives to have their own shows, they are still biased in the way they report the news. I watch them from time-to-time just to see whether they have changed, and they have not. Clearly left-wing, anti-Bush, anti-America. MSNBC doesn't even want to be called "America's" new channel anymore. What they choose to report, how they report it, the fact that they always give the last word to the liberal guests, and that they rarely have articulate conservatives - all of this - is evidence of their bias. When half the people in America want to throw a shoe at Dan Rather, Judy Woodruff, and the rest, there is a valid reason for the criticism CNN and the rest get. And they are so arrogant that they deny any bias, just as you seem to imply with your "supposedly" liberal remark. You just don't see it I guess and you certainly don't get it.
