I don't know?!? The average person in the United States isn't the most sophisticated person in the world. People want something and someone to believe in? People want to be led. Rush is a charismatic person who tells them things they want to hear. So, it doesn't surprise me that he is so popular in Middle America. I'm coming from the point of view that I grew up in a wealthy town and know how the wealthy/corporate types think. I know that they have contempt for working people. And, I know that Rush parrots their point of view. I hear it day in and day out. Rush is always for the conservative corporate/buisness establishment; no matter what the issue is. Rush toes their line and serves as a propagandist for their worldview. That's just how I see things.
