Ed,

Most people who invest in drilling programs lose money. It's a very difficult business and the only ones who do well are the companies who have a certain niche operation, or are large enough to be able to acquire large positions in key areas of concentration. The added burden of the promote lowers your odds a lot lower and they were not good to begin with. Why would a company share a prospect that they believed to be valuable with someone outside the business? They are only in it for the promote.

If the companies were able to make a ROI by drilling, they would do it for themselves and not promote investors.

I drilled with some of the better independent geologist and PE's in Houston and after about 7 years one day I added up all my gains and losses and just broke even so I stopped drilling and only acquire properties.

BRG is a well know company, they operate a number of wells for me in OK and I've never had any problems with them.

Good luck,

Jim
