yes, the OTM's are really heavy speculation. I told myself that I would buy way-OTM July SPX puts first week of January, and never got around to it. darn darn darn (said Herman) That kind of speculation could have nice consequences. For me, it beats the crap tables <gg> Also, I just play it simple: short via puts, go long via calls (rare due to VIX and pricing). Used to do straddles and butterflys, etc, but why make it complex when it's not needed.
