As a matter of fact you do not have to say the pledge with or without "under God" in it... you can be silent. You can even turn your back to the flag while the pledge is being given.

In the best of cases, you become an outcast. On the other extreme, they put you on TV and call you a traitor. Who are u kiddin"?

>Zof; Again, there you go with "requiring". Kids, or you, or anyone are not required to say the pledge with "under God" in it. As a matter of fact you do not have to say the pledge with or without "under God" in it... you can be silent. You can even turn your back to the flag while the pledge is being given. The real question is which would you rather do and how do you feel doing it?

I personally just don't say "under God", but as I said to Tench, will a teacher teaching a young child mention the issues to the kid, or does that teacher indoctrinate him without thinking about it?
