All terrific questions so far as I'm concerned, Mike. And if it were any other group running foreign policy, I would think it made sense to think about them. But the rhetoric of the Bush folk has been so inflammatory and so dichotomous and so macho that it's hard to see how they've left themselves room for a compromise.

I tried to think along with you about such, but each thought I come up with collides with their rhetoric so it looks like failure rather than the ol' Vietnam canard of "let's pull the troops out and declare victory."
