The airline also said the IRS cleared the way for the sale of some of the stock held by its employee stock ownership plan. In a federal filing, the UAL (UAL:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis) unit said it had operating revenue of $1.17 billion and operating expenses of $1.51 billion in January, including $276 million in labor costs and $222 million for fuel expense.
