US Snow: Not Concerned About Dollar's Recent Decline

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow said Tuesday that he wasn't concerned about the recent decline in the U.S. dollar.

Snow made his comment in response to a question from a reporter after testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee.

"It's within normal range. I don't see anything troubling about it," Snow said, referring to the dollar.

The U.S. dollar has fallen about 18% from its high in February 2002 against other major currencies.

Snow noted that the uncertainty over war in Iraq was affecting many things, including the dollar, the stock market and the overall economy.
