The government that the Iraqi people tolerate, without breaking into armed insurrection is the legitimate government.

Well, then the United States would not currently exist X...

Had it not been for the French trying to undermine their British rival, the American Revolution would have failed...

So I guess it's my turn to ROFL at your ridiculous and exaggerated logic.

The US has a clear mandate to take action through some 17 UN resolutions.. It's not often that we have such moral certitude in opting for regime change in a country. And we've taken every other possible step to obtain Saddam's compliance.

But you know he will not comply. He hasn't done it in the past 12 years, and he isn't likely to do it in the next 12, unless we force him to do so..

And that requires military action....

And while I'm not prepared to go out and overthrow every non-democratic regime in the world, I am certainly prepared to undermine and subvert their non-democratic governments by way of encouraging opposition groups and democratic reforms. And on those rare occasions that we have our own vital national interests at stake, and it's possible to attempt to support a liberation, then so be it..

But to claim that unarmed people are supposed to rise up against tanks is plainly ridiculous...

I suggest you try it sometime..
