Sitting in front of screen all day? It depends on what you're trying to do. I'm a real oddity in the way I play the commodity markets. I play only those things that I know and play them for long term trends - sometimes multi-year trends. I certainly don't need to have minute by minute updates. But I'll bet not 1% of players are like me, most are the in and out traders and they tend to watch the markets very carefully. There may be some who make money that way, but I've don't know any of them personally. I do know that 90% of small trading accounts go bust before they're closed. Not good odds.
