Larry, I watch mostly TRINQ. I'm not that up on the ramifications of of a single high close in the TRIN. From what I've seen, it's not much help in divining immediate market direction.

Many of us here watch the TRINQ for certain numbers outside a prescribed range. That has been a great help in determining market trends and direction.

I've read the stuff on Les' thread on TRIN, and I do admit the 5-day sum is pretty high. However, I prefer to let the support and resistance primarily help determine where things are going rather than a single indicator.

The fact that the TRIN king, Hays, is a bit of a clown doesn't help things either.

I know it's exciting for you, however <G>

Larry: The one day Trin reading is only important insofar as it pushes the ten day above 1.5 as it did yesterday which creates the environment for a bounce/rally the extent of which depends upon other market conditions. I am sure this is being discussed over at I-Hub someplace <g>.

One-day TRIN was distorted by the NYSE A/D ratio which was only 1-to-2. A lot of preferreds and bond cef's were up. Check the new highs list. Stocks only TRIN was 1.18 for Nasdaq 100, 1.05 for S&P 100, and 0.82 for S&P 500. The latter TRIN for S&P 500 is only very short-term bullish.
