Mars mistakenly tried to make light of our Lord when in fact he strengthened our position

I thought it was quite a nice scholarly effort on my part , and glad you thought it done well. Amen.
And yet what is wrong with making "light" of the scriptures ?

Seems many could use a little lightening up sometimes? ;-)

Yet I also pointed out many cases when looking back thru history , how one must be moved to have much pity and compassion for all who suffered so inhumanely. I was being quite sincere and serious, for the great Teacher and Messiah Buddha taught clearly this idea 500 years before Jesus . All life is suffering , but one learns greatly from giving of oneself and being open to the "spirit" behind the dreams we get caught up in life , not an authentic life , but one so ensnared and stumbling blind. Living simply and free from attachments , and remaining true to your "Dharma", or path . Jesus states this very clearly in my post on the Bible search for "Follow Me", the parallels between the two teachers is one of the more remarkable discoveries of the last century.

But making light of scriptures? If I really wanted to make "Light" of them , then all I would say to you that can
sum up ---->all of Christianity .... and Judaism/Islam for that matter with the simple instruction :

"love thy brother(and sister) as thyself "

Hinduism and Buddhism take it a bit farther to include all
living things, and they were blessed with messiahs (Buddhas) long before Christianity , and 1 1/2 billion of them still are blessed with living blessed Teachers today.

When you say "Our Lord" , then I must make light of that , for God is there laughing with me too . But be true to your
teaching , love God , but own God not.

Santiago,

Again, all I can say is that I just can't get into this Preterism stuff. I've read it all, prayed about it, talked to other Christians about it - and it just doesn't check out. In fact, this one couple in their late 80's that have been Christians for over 60 years had never heard of it.

You say, "For you and many others to deny that fact has weakened the Church as nothing else has."

I say that I can only respond from what I have seen in my church. I've witnessed people coming to know the Lord, I've witnessed the Lord changing hearts for the better (including my own), and I have witnessed miracles. These are not signs of a "weakened" church! In reality, these are signs of a church strengthened by God's hand....and I didn't even know what Preterism was until just a few weeks ago.

You say, "Futurism has many thinking that since the Lord will return in a few minutes or a few years causes belief that there is no reason for us to work for the cause of Christ since the time is so short."

I honestly don't know any Christians that think this way and I've gone to several spirit filled churches in Edmond and North OKC. So, of course now I'm kind of curious as to where you're running into these futuristic Christians that think there is no reason for us to work for the cause of Christ?

I know that I will never believe in the Preterist viewpoint simply because I have witnessed God's hand in my life and my spiritual relationship with Christ has grown without it...like I said, I just became aware of the Preterist viewpoint a few weeks ago. Oh well. I know that you know Jesus...so, let us get back to spreading the good news of the Gospel! I hope you're having a good week Santiago. Stay warm today & Be blessed, Scott

No Jesus, no peace; Know Jesus, know peace!
