Don't know if we are recovering or not. Looks like a double dip is in the making and it might be worse than the last one. I am starting to believe that the best hope for the economy is a falling dollar and rapidly falling oil price. Unfortunately the former is more probable than the latter. Our growth engine is tech and it doesn't seem to be rebounding.

Bush would love such a "bubble", even a small bubble, any bubble at all. Real estate is now a bubble. That may pop. Then we'll have no bubbles left. Bubbles mean optimism and growth and investment, sometimes overly-exuberant, but that is what every president wishes for. Clinton's growth was not just a bubble, it was real. Full employment and investment everywhere. All around the world. A booming world economy with benefoits for everyone. Yes there are cycles but look who brings us the boom and look who brings us the bust. The proof is in the performance, but excuses. Anyone can make an excuse.

Now we have the opposite of a bom and part of the blame lays squarely on Bush's shoulders.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Bush broke that rule badly.

The one thing he should have fixed is putting corporate thieves like Ken Lay in jail. Not a single day of jail for any of them yet.

Bush gets a partial pass because of 9-11, but he has also used and abused the nation's fears to put his party in power and start a new war. This makes the damage two or three times worse on our economy. And what is the end game? Is anyone really clear on that?

Great catch of Al Qaida leader in Pakistan. Five or ten more of those and maybe the war on terror is won. Which means all the lies about Saddam-Al Qaida will be even more lame than they already are.
