Survivalism is all about competition, survival of the fittest, etc. In that respect, "Do unto others" lasts about as long as it is convenient to do so. The secular humanist would definitely agree with Machiavelli's point-of-view than the Judeo-Christian point-of-view. It's funny how secular humanists adopt truths and virtues espoused by religion and try and pull God out of them. What's left is an intellectual house-of-cards that gets blown away by the changing winds of society.
