Talisman CEO sees 10 pct output increase in 2004
Wednesday March 5, 12:00 pm ET

CALGARY, Alberta, March 5 (Reuters) - Talisman Energy Inc. (Toronto:TLM.TO - News) expects to boost production at least 10 percent a share in 2004 after a gain of more than 5 percent this year, excluding output from its soon-to-be-sold Sudan interest, its chief executive said on Wednesday.
Canada's second-largest oil explorer and producer is on track to pump out as much as 445,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day by the end of 2003, a level it had forecast for an average this year before announcing the $758 million sale of its Sudan assets, chief executive Jim Buckee told analysts in a conference call.

Buckee said Talisman was beefing up exploration this year and could also consider asset acquisitions in its main operating areas.
