Hi Dan,
Thanks for your comments regarding ArrayCom and i-Burst.

I absolutely agree that ArrayCom has yet to " cross the chasm". The results of the Australian Field trial will be crucial. The million dollar question is "Will I-Burst be a marginal improvement over 3G networks, and go by the way of Betamax(vs VHS), or will the difference be compelling like DVD vs VHS " ?

Since the 3g roll out in USA is stalled anyway, if the Australian Field Trial looks compelling, the US service providers may skip the plain vanilla 3G deployment and go to something which has I-Bust performance. One impressive feature is that the I-Burst will be a cheap way to provide equivalent performance to WiFi and seamless transfer to WiFi, and completely complement WiFi . [Wi Fi is destined to be a winner given its present momentum, Intel's marketing clout and seeding of the WiFi infrastructure].

I am sure that Qualcomm can enhance CDMA with Intelligent Array Technology also. ArrayCom needs partners to suceed. However ArrayCom reminds me of QualComm in the early 90's. However it remains to be seen if it can successfuly cross the chasm as well.
