I have not said they are being tortured, either. Some are apparently being sent to countries where they WILL be tortured, but anyway, that is another issue.

I asked you the question, because that was, in effect, what we were talking about re POW status. Brumar was saying they should not be given POW status because then US would be able to get no info out of them. I think his argument is that they can be interrogated in ways unacceptable in Geneva Convention "to prevent Americans from being slaughtered in future attacks".

When the end is preventing massacres, I'm willing to accept depriving detained terror group members of some of the rights we extend to ordinary people, including common criminals.
