Used it as collateral for business loans Ouch. Leverage is a double-edged sword and it's cut a lot of people lately. I remember reading these threads years ago when posters used to brag about how leveraged they were and how undiversified they were too. Combine those and you risk losing it all. I can remember one astute investor who commented that the riskier the stock he invested in, the better he was doing and that it was enticing to pile more and more risks on.
