It is generally appropriate to post things that are published, that way it's less likely to have a thread full of personal conjecture. SOme threads on SI don't allow opinion...........only press clips. I have had people interpret an author's point differently then I do, then attack me on their illusion of what the author's point was................then pester me for hours about some mute point that was assumed and interpreted incorrectly. IF you started a thread that was opinion only it would end up being a free for all slander party with nothing but one liner insults.
