>>>Chief UN weapons inspector Hans Blix claims the investigations in Iraq are beginning to work.

Dr Blix told reporters in New York that the destruction of al Samoud 2 missiles by Iraq is clear evidence of "real disarmament".<<<

<<A few days ago I posted the opinion of some eminent Australian lawyers who stated that in the circumstance of the US going to war without UN approval it will have violated the UN Charter and will thus have committed a criminal act.>>

In my opinion the UN is a useless form for second rate dictators to attack the US for anything it does or doesn't do. For 10 years it allowed Saddam to do anything he wanted. Bush brought it to a head.

<<< but contend he is attempting to do what is required, albeit tardily,>>

12 years???????

<<<<inspectors have not found anything>>

It is not the inspectors job to find "anything". There job is to verify that Saddam has destroyed what he had.

<< Of course, it is easy to imagine Saddam could have a secret stash of who-knows-what hidden somewhere but, so far, despite all kinds of searches by many people, it has not been found. In the circumstances, I am prepared to concede that it does not exist.>>

If you believe this you are following the right course. I have no faith in what Saddam says and am not willing to take the chance the we will be faced with weapons which will cause horrific damage to people all over the world. If Hitler was stopped when he first broke the peace treaty we might not have had to suffer through WW2. Do you not agree.

The following editorial is quite good IMHO.
