I paid more than that here last weekend.

Our city routinely is about 30-40 cents more per gallon than the city next to mine in an area near apartments (not a "bad" area) and even more compared to cities in the county next to here.

NOW we are not that much more than the city next to mine, so I "think" that the supply/demand has kept the price from rising as much per gallon in proportion to the city next to here.

I'm pretty sure that consumers are gas price sensitive because I've seen more sedan type cars out in proportion to overall cars/suvs. How might I know that? Well I have a sedan type car and usually feel like I'm the only one left. When I park in a retail shopping parking lot, I have a hard time finding my car because it's hidden between the suvs and minivans. When I back out, I cannot see what is coming due to the view obstruction from the larger vehicles. BUT recently I've not had trouble finding my car and that's cuz the lot seems to be filled with cars my size.

My daughter works at a fast food place and tells me that the last week and a half they have seen a sudden drop off in business. Not sure if it's cuz people don't want to use the gas to drive or don't feel like they have much discretionary spending money after filling up the SUV.I know it's not the weather.... lol!

I kinda fear that maybe the Iraq situation isn't the main reason gas prices are higher. We have to be using a lot more with these big vehicles overtaking the smaller more fuel efficient cars. Venezuela is maybe a bigger contributing factor.

Either we will adjust to the higher prices or they better come back down pretty fast or I think a double dipper is on the way.
