And none of these issues were starting in motion prior to January 20th of 2001? I think they were. Government was spending money based on projected inflows that never materialized as a result of because the economy was sinking from late 1999 on. The dollar faces challenges because of this over spending and ( roaring 90's party we had ) which means to keep consumers looking credit worthy we needed to adjust rates. Once rates were adjusted down the logical next step is a devaluation in or currency. In short I don't think its quite so easy to lay this all at the feet of GWB and I work in the same industry you do

Excellent points MS - too bad the health of the American economy isn't important to these armchair warriors. For Bush no price is too high, yeah well its your money that he is willing to spend. And it will affect the future strength of America.

There are some here who think this war will be good for the economy!!! Not even the defense stocks are up!
