You liked this, Ron? It is a simple History of the partitioning that the Brits did over the years. Maybe I was too familiar with it. First piece by Hitchens I have read this year that I felt was a yawn.

I just ran into this article and have posted it at FADG. I think it's fabulous. The literary references--Auden, GBS, Macaulay--were terrific. Bringing in the Viennese quack in order to make us think about the "narcissism of minor differences" was a stroke of genius.

One of his best, IMO.

Sorry to see LB disagree, but in matters of taste there are no disputes.
