Well...my point stands. We need to see some sort of settlement there before we can hope to see any easing of tension in the middle east

<< And that 80% of 25% was not contiguous, it was broken up into many pieces. >>

Of course it was not contiguous. After decades of being attacked by Palestinian terrorists, no one in their right mind would want a contiguous terrorist state set up. Israel wanted to be able to have defensible borders. After all, the ONLY thing that the Palestinians were offering, as part of the peace deal, was to stop killing Israeli citizens. Israel was offering everything, but all that the Palestinian terrorists would have to do, is stop murdering Israelis.

If the Palestinian leadership had accepted the peace offer, and had their state set up in non contiguous pieces, and then had they shown, over time, that they wanted to live in peace, it would have led to a contiguous state. The Palestinian state would have also received billions in aid, and all kinds of assistance. And....... instead of all the killings and misery, over the past two years, there could have been true peace.

The Palestinian leaders KNEW this. Since their charter calls for the destruction of Israel, there was no way they would accept a great peace offer. Sadly, the Palestinian leaders chose violence over peace and prosperity for their people.
