Here is an Israeli study:

israelinsider.com

- 47% of the suicide bombers have an academic education and an additional 29% have at least a high school education.
-83% of the suicide bombers are single.
-64% of the suicide bombers are between the ages 18-23; most of the rest are under 30.
-68% of the suicide bombers have come from the Gaza Strip.

64% between 18-23 and most of the rest under 30 suggests suicide bombers are not really "children".

It also helps to consider the cultural differences - In the Middle East, even a guy of 15-16 is not a "kid". Marriage in early teens is not unheard of, and 18 is an age where one can very well have a kid by his/her side.

Again, this is not to say "Suicide bombing is good" or something. I am only pointing out that their perpetrators are not children.
