That's a totally bogus argument.

By your logic we are defending Kim Jong IL, Castro, Kaddafi, The Ayotollah, etc. Anyone who doesn't advocate invading these countries and deposing their leaders is an appeaser defending their atrocities.

And by containing the Soviet Union instead of invading them like Reagan did, he was implicitly protecting them, right?
